Murderous Mooses

car_crashes_0112.jpg

When it’s dark out and you drive in a between a forest, always be on guard for mooses. Those animals don’t care whether a car is passing by or not, if they want to get to the other side of the road, they will. The problem is that if a car crashes on them it’s not only they who die, but the passengers too. The moose is really heavy and will immediately break the windshield and destroy the whole car. Just look at the picture, doesn’t look good huh? Also, I’ve heard that if you see a moose, don’t attempt to drive behind it with speed, because they often might stop suddenly and return back again, in which case you’ll still crash. The best is to try and break hard, prepared to steer towards the moose-empty direction.

Underage Drinking

car_crashes_0111.jpg

Underage drinking is the biggest issue these days. Alcohol makes mature people immature. What happens to immature people? Baby-brains? It doesn’t leave you with a lot of wisdom, that’s for sure. And when you’re dumb you attempt to drive drunk. And when you drive drunk you crash, which results in life-changing injuries. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like this chain of events. The youngsters driving this Civic obviously felt adventurous, after all, who doesn’t want to get squeezed underneath a huge truck?

Crash With Careless 16 Year Old Driver

car_crashes_0110.gif

Ok, we’ve seen drivers do stupid stuff before, but enough is enough! Of course you’re gonna crash when you talk in your cell phone, smoke a cigarette and is 16 years old. No, that driver wasn’t driving the car in the picture, it crashed with it though. The person driving this Honda Accord had some serious injuries and said he had to hold his femur bone in place in order to keep it from breaking the skin. Nasty huh? Anyhow, the police said in their statement that the careless 16 year old female driver “took both hands off of the wheel, and lost control of the car.â€? That’s like wanting to crash.

Black Ice Caused Fatal Crash on Christmas

car_crashes_0109.jpg

It’s impossible to avoid sad stories when writing about car crashes. It’s like talking about my grandpa and not mention his age, or something. Christmas wasn’t long ago and is supposed to be a happy holiday, for some. Not for the ones that crashed on Christmas eve, and unfortunately died. Six people, from the age of 17 to 27, and a dog. Why and how? It might be because of the driving for instance one of the drivers had a suspended license. Mostly though, it was once again the evil black ice. We’ve seen it do plenty of damage before and sadly the most tragic.

Cars Under Trucks and SUVs

car_crashes_0108.jpg

They have already started to seriously consider how to solve the problem when high SUVs and trucks collide with regular cars. What usually happens is what you see in the picture, which obviously is a lot more dangerous and fatal. The car slides under the truck and usually kills the front passengers. Nine major automakers agreed last Tuesday to begin installing beams that meet a new strength test by September 2009. Ford and DaimlerChrysler didn’t agree to redesign and test the high safety beams. We don’t know anything final yet, but let’s hope all understand the risk.

Car Hug Tree

car_crashes_0107.jpg

Car hit a tree when the weather was good and the car just fine. DD. Drunk driver. There’s not much to say, since the story of this is pretty unknown, but the main point is… trees seem to be the driver’s worst enemy. Seriously, be careful and take care, your life is important and so is everybody else’s.

Seat Belt Saves Life Once Again

car_crashes_0106.JPG

We’ve seen people die due to the lack of respect to seat belts too many times, so it’s never a bad time to remind the ongoing story that “a mangled car from a young survivor wearing his seat belt is a vivid reminder of how fragile life is”. That’s exactly what this picture is all about. Squeezed together but still unharmed, only if you take the right security measures, wearing seat belt, not drinking nor talking in cell.

Ambulance and Police - Fast?

car_crashes_0105.jpg

This picture was found in an article about how slow ambulance and police are to get to the scene where a car has crashed. Now, I don’t know I can completely agree with that, because of all the stories where people survived due to the ambulance’s quick service, but it’s very possible that’s not usually the case. I guess it depends on many factors; some territories are better covered than others. Anyway though, the car we see in the image sure had a bad day and would appreciate some good care real soon.

When You Sleep and Drive

Now, this is the second video in “inside a crashing carâ€?- theme, where we will get a realistic view of what happens when you 1) sleep when driving and 2) don’t wear seatbelt. One of the few videos I’ve seen actually providing such good view inside a crashing car, but also one of the most disturbing. Everything can be changed so simple and quickly.

When You Drink and Drive

I thought we should have “inside a crashing car” theme today, which means we’re gonna get a feeling/picture of how it looks like when crashing. It might be a bit disturbing, thinking of all the thousands of people dying because of car accidents every year, but can also be very informative making us realize how important it is to be careful out there. So here’s the first video within this “theme”:
